Short Note of Kidneys (345)

Kidney: There are two bean shaped reddish brown organs covered with peritoneal membrane. These are situated in the obdominal cavity on either side of vertebral column. The man region of kidney has outer cortex and inner meddull. The kidneys contain a large number of "Nephron" which is structural and functional unit of kidney about one million nephron present each kidney. Nephron held together by connnective tissues. In medulla many cone like structure are present called pyramids. They open into a wide funnal shaped part called Pelvis. The kidney about 10 cm long.
